A very good inn with great cuisine and very friendly and hard-working staff. I went to eat several times and was not disappointed. 😋👌

I am very thrilled. The staff was great, unfortunately the corona wave here too. When everything is through, we'll be back on site. Simply because it's beautiful.

Very cozy gastronomy with creative ideas. The food is fresh and deliciously prepared. If you don't want to eat at rush hour, it is no problem at all to get a table without a reservation in the off-season. The service is very nice and quick.

We were lucky and managed to get a table without a reservation. We had cheese spaetzle and the large schnitzel, which consists of two. :)) Both very tasty, good portion, the prices are accordingly reasonable. Nice & brisk service! We recommend making reservations, the restaurant was very busy.

Great service !!! The service was entertaining, really hard-working and very quick. You really noticed that the gentleman lives his job. The beef fillet was great only the spaetzle were a little too "mushy". You should definitely make a reservation here, otherwise it will be extremely difficult to get a table. But it is possible to take your meals with you.

We ate there nine times during our 12-day vacation. Twice not because of a rest day and once because of a wrong decision. Every dish is just delicious. My husband and I got through the whole menu. The veal knuckle and the farmer's duck were awesome (pre-order). As a starter, the sour dumpling was my highlight. The schnitzel must have been good too, our daughter ate it every evening. The waitresses are all friendly. It was always brisk. That gave our vacation the icing on the cake.

We came back here again this year. The food was very good, the service was impeccable. A reservation is definitely recommended, as otherwise there is often no free space available due to the Covid-19 regulations.

Had ordered a table for 5:30 p.m. today, were unfortunately 10 minutes late, tried to communicate this by phone, unfortunately no one answered the call when we arrived, the older waitress said very unfriendly that they had the table at 5:30 p.m. has forgiven .....! Although there was no reservation and the pizzeria next door was also very well attended, we got a table there, the staff was extremely friendly, the lady from the Waldhauser Bräu should do an apprenticeship there!

Fast and friendly service. Completely understandable prices. We had the Käsespätzle which were delicious. A visit there: absolute recommendation. However, I would currently recommend a reservation 1-2 days in advance. We noticed that many people unfortunately had to be turned away.

We have been coming here for over 20 years and are still more than satisfied. The food is always top quality and the service is simply first class. We're looking forward to next time. The last week we were there every day and enjoyed it. Our kids love the schnitzel. There are no better ones.

Best restaurant in Schönau. We can highly recommend it. Kitchen is first class. The choice of dishes is huge. There is something for every palate and taste. Out of four attempted bookings, not one worked. Not unusual in the main season, but we were always dumped abruptly. It doesn't have to be. A no-go for us. Thanks a lot for this! Other restaurants in the surrounding area are much nicer to their guests!

A somewhat rustic design, maybe a bit old-fashioned. But everything was clean and well maintained. The service is great, nice and competent service. The food is first class if you love Bavarian cuisine, you will be satisfied.

Sent away at 9 p.m. because the kitchen was supposedly closed. There would still have been enough space. The Italian next to us gave us a very friendly welcome. Edit: Just seen, on their homepage it even says: Hot food until 9:30 p.m. ...

Been there twice and ate very well. Meat juicy and tasty, very good salad. Tender and well seared salmon. Good dishes for children. Fast, attentive, friendly service We will be back!!

The restaurant is really good and I can recommend it. Since we were on holiday in Berchtesgaden for a week, we ate there every day and worked up and down the menu. Everything just tasted very good and the service was extremely friendly every time.

Despite the Corona crisis, the atmosphere was wonderful. The food is excellent, the selection typically Bavarian hearty. The service was always friendly, quick and reasonably priced!

Unfortunately I cannot rate the food, as we were turned away by an in my opinion very unfriendly female staff, that did not welcome us in any way or even bothered asking how many persons etc. we are, she simply gave me (in my opinion) a very unwelcoming stare. After I asked if she has a table for 2 plus a small dog, her reply was "no, dogs are not allowed and we already have 3 dogs inside". Not sure what the meaning of this is or what difference it makes, but there were plenty of free tables available... I know hospitality business can be tough at times but this is in my opinion no way to welcome guests. Especially if it's not busy at all... (This review reflects my subjective experience and subjective feeling)

Good restaruant.

We loved it! Potato soup, dumpling salad was really good, pork roast, roast beef, all excellent. Good beer, great people!

The restaurant is supposed to close at 22h. We showed up a Friday at 20:40h to be told that they would not do warm food, just cold cuts. On their website they say the kitchen closes at 21:30h...

Parking can be difficult. If you are in Schönau just walk there! But the food is good and the service nice.

It says they close at midnight (which is suspicious) so we arrived at 8:20 pm and the rude waitress said that they were already closed even though the restaurant was 60% full and you could see cooks working in the kitchen. Judging by the other reviews it seems like they have a policy based on how you look (we are young and had been hiking).

It's legit bavarian food set in an authentic atmosphere with reasonable prices. Beers are solid and so is the food. The lady running the place was very accommodating as well. Disregard the negative revewis.

We arrived at the restaurant early on a Monday and we were told by the waitress to look for a table in the larger of the restaurant's two dining rooms. Only two of the about 25 tables were taken and 2 more were reserved so we easily picked a table and sat down. The menu looked good with many different local dishes. I picked a skewer with pig fillet and mushroom sauce and my girlfriend had a pig roast with a large bread dumpling. We had no trouble switching my girlfriend's side from kraut salad to a regular small salad. Food was good although not great and a bit on the pricey side. However we were shocked by an event during our dinner: When an Asian family of three entered the dining room and politely asked the waitress if there was a free table, she responded with "sorry today only reservations". This was clearly a blatant lie as she had told us only two tables were reserved when we arrived. My girlfriend counted 17 free tables at the time the family asked for a table. I don't know why this restaurant treats foreign people with such hostility but as a German myself this was a big no go for me.

We got the wrong food and apparently the chef is in charge of what you get to eat since we could not get the food we asked for even after trying to send it back.... as the waitress put it ‘The chef is the boss’. It was late we were hungry but never again!

Great German restaurant and food was great! Go for grilled Putten with pepper sauce! Definitely recommendable restaurant. Only downside, hard to get place if you one donot make a reservation in advance!

Great food and a lovely ambiance. If you love the idea of an Irisch Pub, you feel right at ease here. The plates were all filled up with good food, and the service was just as nice.

Low prices typical food. I had a deer stew which was quite good and they have a decent selection of beer (from one brand). If you sleep in this town I'd recommend the place for dinner for a Bavarian food experience.
